A Dilemmatical Pain

I see caliginous clouds forming, light rays dissipating, and they harbinger the falling of rain in the offing. Such phenomenon would inevitably be ‘the caĺl of nature’, yet my heart’s wondering if my sweetie would be drenched from head to toe. The thought of it cringes my heart so agonisingly for no text messages nor phone calls could reach her to make a check of concern; all on the grounds of a meeting undisturbed. What a pain of dilemma!

Compromising the Rules of Living

Crossing the road where a pedestrian traffic light pole stands across the other end is made visible for the most obvious reason: safety is key for all pedestrians crossing it.
Having said that, I was put to the test earlier on while crossing the road. As usual, I stood at the pedestrian crossing, awaiting the green man signal light to come on. The waiting led more people to wait alongside me; among them were two snazzily dressed ladies in their twenties. As the wait grew longer, some of them decided to quit the wait and dart across the road when no motor vehicles were in sight. Then there were five of us left standing still at the same spot. I was wondering why the green man signal light was still hiding behind the bulb and not coming forth, leaving the red signal man light facing us. When the wait became awfully long, two of them decided to follow suit. To my surprise, the two snazzily dressed ladies were still standing together with me waiting. Here’s the question: If you were them, would you have done the same or otherwise?

A Less Forgiving Gesture

While peregrinating through the concourse between two major shopping malls, I saw a little boy of about five tracing his hand through the air as he walked with the other held by his father. Oblivious of the people walking past, he accidentally brushed his hand across the lower part of an old lady’s dress. Looking back over my shoulder,  I couldn’t help but notice the well-dressed old lady looking peeved at what the boy did. She pursed her lips and tsked at the boy, a gesture that reflected her less forgiving self it seemed. What would have been your response if you were her?

Couple Time Bliss

1 January 2016, Friday, a very significant day to begin the new year. With the kids staying over at a relative’s place, my sweetie and I couldn’t wait to roll out the plan for our couple time.
First on our list was to shop for the groceries for the week. In the blink of an eye, we hopped into the car and drove off to the Round Market excitedly. Pulling into a parking space upon arrival at our destination, my eyes were drawn to the parking space number: 333 — a familiar bible verse suddenly surged forth in my mind — “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known” (Jeremiah 33:3). A timely reminder to begin the year with prayer to my Lord for directions that set the pathway to adventure and blessings for others and me. Then without much delay after grabbing the needed groceries, we headed off to our favourite haunt to revel in food savoury in each other’s company. What a conviviality with my beloved convive! By the way, I have just locked this blissful moment into my memory locket.
